AN ISLE of Wight pub has announced it will be closing its doors for the final time later this year, as its owner prepares to wave goodbye to the site after almost half a decade.
The Victoria Tavern, on Clarence Road, is set to cease trading in May.
Its kitchen will close at the end of February, and the team are calling on patrons to continue to support the pub until “the very end”.
“After nearly five years here, it’s with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have to announce we will be closing our doors for good,” said a spokesperson for the tavern team.
“We are immensely proud of what we have achieved in our time here, creating one of the best community pubs around.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to all our customers; those local, and from afar.
“Thank you for continuously showing your loyalty and support to our little pub.
“That is why we ask you to continue your support until the very end.
“Our kitchen will be closing at the end of February.
“More details will be announced soon.”
