A popular Isle of Wight seafront restaurant – boasting sea views across Sandown Bay – will reopen under new management in Spring, a year after its closure.
The Bandstand, a 100-year-old building, was rescued by its previous owners in 2014 after it had laid dormant for decades, having formerly been a cafe in the 1970s.
Opening in 2015, the restaurant quickly gained a good reputation – capitalising on the fantastic panoramic sea views afforded by its position on Culver Parade.
In 2021, after seven successful years, the business was put up for sale and subsequently closed its doors in March 2023.
However, now under new management, it is hoped the once popular dining spot can be revitalised, with its owners aiming to offer ‘the same Bandstand, re-imagined’.
Taking to social media, the new management said: “We are delighted to announce the reopening of The Bandstand in March 2024.
“We will be offering unique food and drinks, all served in the most stunning location. We look forward to seeing you at The Bandstand soon!”
The Bandstand restaurant includes an accompanying ice cream kiosk, and offers indoors and outdoors seating areas.
