Temporary lights were put in place on Downend Road, outside the Hare & Hounds pub, after the permanent set were damaged by a vehicle.
These lights, however, have been stuck on red, causing traffic 'carnage' in the area, the County Press has been told.

The delays have been further impacted by the closure of Briddlesford Road for carriageway reconstruction and strengthening works.
A spokesperson from Island Roads said teams are attending the site to investigate and will make any adjustments necessary.
It is advised to avoid the area if you can.
UPDATE: It is understood the technical issue has since been rectified.
