THE MET Office still have an amber weather warning for wind in place this morning (Monday) following a wild night in which Storm Isha battered the Isle of Wight.
Although much of yesterday (Sunday) was breezy, Storm Isha did not really start to intensify until late afternoon, which signalled the cancellation of most cross-Solent ferry services.

Hovertravel was out of action all day, as was the Red Jet services between Cowes and Southampton, but Wightlink's catamaran continued for much of Sunday, until the weather turned much choppier on The Solent.
Even car ferry services were significantly affected.
Southern Vectis reported a tree down on the outskirts of Newport, which led to the closure of Watery Lane in Newchurch last night.
The amber warning, which started at 6pm last night, was expected to continue through to 9am this morning, following a final check last night.
