FOLLOWING a heated row in an Isle of Wight pub, a man pulled his partner along the street by her hair.
Elliot Aaron Dwyer accused his victim of having an affair with another man, a court was told.
Dwyer, of St John's Hill, Ryde, admitted inflicting actual bodily harm against the woman, causing affray and intimidating a witness, the same victim, when he appeared by video link at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court.
At around 4.30pm on December 19 last year, Dwyer met up with his partner at Wetherspoons in Ryde.
Conversations led to a heated row about an incident that happened earlier that day, in which Dwyer, 23, accused the victim of infidelities with another man, said Liz Miller, prosecuting.
Later on, at 9pm, the woman arrived home and Dwyer, waiting in his car for her, ran towards her, trying to get her car keys.
She ran towards a nearby house for help, but the neighbour refused to help, and Dwyer put her in a headlock, continuing his accusations of cheating, the bench was told.
The woman broke free, but Dwyer grabbed her by the hair and pulled her down the street, as witnessed by a woman, before the victim took refuge in a couple's home.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Dwyer hiding near a bush. He falsely told them his name was Jonathan, and was arrested, Miss Miller added.
The following day, Dwyer got his mother to phone the victim, with the aim of intimidating her into dropping the case against him, therefore "intending to cause the investigation to be obstructed, perverted or interfered with".
For Dwyer, Oscar Vincent said there were a number of issues at the heart of his client's offending behaviour and suggested a report be written by probation before he is sentenced.
Magistrates ordered the report, to cover all sentencing options, including imprisonment.
Dwyer was remanded in custody to reappear for sentencing at the same venue on February 2.
