A new convenience store looks set to open at a former Central Stores shop on the Isle of Wight. 

It appears chain, Family Shopper, is coming to Avenue Road, Sandown.

A post from Family Shopper Avenue Stores - Sandown group, on Facebook, said: "The store is finally starting to come together!

"We honestly cannot WAIT to show you the finished store.

"A HUGE thank you to everyone who has worked on the project."

Central Stores closed its Avenue Road shop in October 2022.

As well as the store, the building also homed a Post Office.

Those behind the new shop say that will not be the case this time, however.

Family Shopper has around 80 stores across the UK, including one in Cowes.

Each are independently-owned by local retailers.

As well as the usual branded products, the shops also sell their own label items.

The Sandown store is expected to open on January 24.
