POWER has been cut to around 230 householders and businesses in one of the Isle of Wight's largest villages.
Scottish and Southern Electricity (SSE) planned an outage for Godshill and part of adjoining Sandford, which started at 9am today (Tuesday) and is due to last until 4.30pm.

The outage, which is affecting 226 customers in 17 PO38 postcode areas, is planned so the SSE can carry out essential work to its equipment.
An unplanned power cut was also reported for part of Godshill at 9.10am this morning.
SSE says it expects power to be restored within three hours.

SSE says power has been restored to most properties.
