A MAN accused of a serious assault on a woman by slamming her head against the frame of a car door after they had been to the Isle of Wight Festival, has elected to stand trial.

Jordan James Reeves, of Captain's Parade, East Cowes, denied inflicting actual bodily harm against a woman, at Wootton Bridge, on June 19 last year, when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court last Tuesday.

The 25-year-old, formerly of Weeks Road, Ryde, was bailed to reappear for trial at the same venue on March 27.
