HOUSEHOLDS and businesses in an Isle of Wight village have been hit by a major power cut this morning (Monday).
Around 600 customers have been affected by the outage, in 49 postcodes in the PO33 area.
Calls were made to Scottish and Southern Electricity at 9.59am.
An engineer has yet to be sent to the site, but the SSE have apologised for the power outage and are working hard to get the supply restored as soon as possible.

UPDATE: 2.01PM
The situation has improved, with 22 PO33 postcodes in Wootton now without power, affecting 228 customers.
The SSE estimate power will be fully restored by engineers by 5pm today.
UPDATE 4.04PM
There are now only 11 PO33 postcodes without power in Wooton, affecting 120 customers.
The SSE estimate power will be fully restored by engineers by 6pm today.
