A police investigation is underway after a newly-opened Isle of Wight seafront restaurant was targeted by vandals.
Paseo Tapas, on Ryde Esplanade, has had its front door smashed. It is understood to have happened late last night (Tuesday).
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed it received reports of criminal damage at the seafront business at 11.45pm.

Pictures show smashed glass strewn across the floor.
The restaurant, which serves tapas, only opened last month (December).
It is run by the owners of Union Street deli, Pickle and Dill — Nicola, Danielle and Bob Wright.

The family have joined forces with Jason Killingback, from cigar and whiskey shop, Sip and Smoke in Victoria Arcade.
Local food critics Matt and Cat recently gave the restaurant four out of five stars.
