AN ISLE of Wight man who attacked his mum and was due to be sentenced by magistrates last week, has had the date moved back to next month so a report can be prepared on him.
Richard Herbert, of Printers Mews, Shanklin, admitted assaulting his mother by beating, in Basingstoke, on November 3 last year, at an earlier hearing held at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.
He was due to be sentenced at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Tuesday last week, but due to his confusion over his move to the Island from temporary accommodation in Basingstoke, Herbert failed to attend probation appointments in the preparation of a pre-sentence report, according to his solicitor, Michael McGoldrick, at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court last Friday.
Although he was arrested and brought into court, magistrates bailed Herbert to reappear for sentencing at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on February 16.
