Firefighters are tackling what's been described as a 'small' fire at an Isle of Wight primary school this morning (Wednesday).

Updated: 'Everyone is safe' and children have returned to class

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has been called to Lanesend Primary, Cowes.

An electrical fire broke out in a dishwasher, the fire service told the County Press.

Three fire engines are in attendance on Love Lane - one from Cowes Fire Station and two from Newport Fire Station.

Firefighters were called at 8.34am.

The fire service has confirmed no one has been hurt.
