A TEENAGER who broke into the garage of a family home, twice flouted a Child Abduction Warning Notice (CAWN) and took a Volkswagen Fox belonging to another person, will remain behind bars until he is sentenced by Isle of Wight magistrates next week.
Roobin Jones, of Arctic Road, Cowes, admitted taking a vehicle without consent, in Cothey Way, Ryde, and driving without a licence and insurance, on Chequers Inn Road, Rookley, when he appeared by video link from HMP Winchester, at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court, last Friday (5).
The incidents happened between September 22-25 last year.
Jones, 19, had previously appeared before the bench on December 6 and was remanded in custody.
At that time, unemployed Jones admitted burglary and two counts of keeping away a child in care without lawful authority.
Jones broke into a residential garage in Chatfield Lodge, Newport, where he stole a motorcycle helmet during the early hours of November 10 last year.
A forensic investigation identified Jones as the person responsible.
On November 23, Jones had been served a CAWN prohibiting him from having any contact with a vulnerable 17-year-old on the Island.
Despite the CAWN being in place, police determined Jones had been in the company of the child on November 25 and December 1.
Jones remains in custody to reappear for sentencing on Wednesday, January 17.
