POLICE carried out a planned raid on an Isle of Wight man's home and found cannabis, a court was told.
Keith Wilson, of Landguard Road, Shanklin, admitted possessing cannabis on August 15 last year, when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court last Friday, January 5.
Police, armed with a search warrant, entered the 47-year-old's home and found a small bag of the class B drug in his bedroom.
Jobless Wilson told officers he paid £80 for it and that it was his own personal use, said Lauren Stone, prosecuting.
His criminal record includes eight other previous offences of drugs possession and one of drug driving, his most recent offence, in 2017.
Wilson, who appeared in court unrepresented, told the bench he had quit the use of drugs since his drug-driving conviction.
He was fined £80, with £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.
