More rain is on the way, forecasters say, as two weather warnings are issued for the Isle of Wight.

From 12pm tomorrow (Thursday), a Met Office alert is in force for another spell of downpours.

The warning runs alongside a separate Isle of Wight Met Service yellow rain warning, which comes into place at 1pm tomorrow.

Island forecaster Jamie Russell said: "The latest data suggests some rather rainfall totals affecting the Island through Thursday afternoon and evening.

"Computer models suggest a whole range of final rainfall amounts, from 10-15mm on some models but closer to 20-30mm on others.

"At this point we think that 15-20mm is rather likely across many areas but still with the risk of larger totals up to 40mm in the worst affected areas."

The Met Office warns of further flooding and travel disruption.

What to expect (according to the Met Office)

  • There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • Spray and flooding is likely to lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads
  • Where flooding occurs, there is a chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services

The warnings are in place until 3am (Met Office) and 2am (Met Service) on Friday (5).
