AN ISLE of Wight man has been accused of an attack and stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods from supermarkets on New Year's Day.
Daniel Drake, 40, has been charged with common assault on a man aged in his thirties, in Town Lane, Newport.
The 40-year-old, of of Holyrood Street, Newport, was also charged with two shoplifting offences in Newport — £385.34 worth of goods from Sainsbury’s, and £316 worth of items from Morrison’s.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday).
