A popular Isle of Wight comic book shop is hosting an 'end of an era' event today (Saturday), as it prepares to move to bigger premises.

Heroes, in Central Market, Scarrots Lane, Newport, is expanding and leaving its current home in the New Year.

To celebrate the 'old and new', it is inviting customers to visit for a day of freebies, offers, live art and nostalgia.

As the County Press revealed in September 2022, the business is moving round the corner to Pyle Street, opposite B&M. 

Renovation work has been taking place at the new building over the last year.

Heroes, which specialises in comics, games and collectibles, has already enjoyed 18 successful years in the town.

The shop is also a community hub with gaming nights for Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Warhammer and more.

The event gets underway from 10am and runs until 5pm.
