Sandown New Year's Day Celebration is returning for 2024, with fireworks being launched from the end of Sandown Pier on Monday evening (January 1).

Organised by the Sandown Carnival Association, the event promises an evening of fun, with the spectacular firework display getting underway at 6pm.

For the best viewing spots, find a space along Sandown Esplanade and be in the front row of the display!

The Esplanade and Pier Street will be closed shortly before, during and after the display for crowd safety, with the closures lasting approximately one hour.

  • If you manage to take any fantastic photos of the display, be sure to share them with us at editor@iwcp.co.uk

There is no entry fee to the event, which can be enjoyed from the entire Esplanade, however, it is a fundraiser for the town's carnival committee's future events.

Donations will be gratefully appreciated, said organisers, and volunteers will be positioned along the Esplanade with collection buckets.

Those who cannot attend but would like to donate can do so online at www.sandowncarnival.com/donate

Sandown New Year's Day Celebrations may be subject to last-minute changes or cancellations due to weather conditions, keep an eye on the Sandown Carnival Facebook page for updates.
