Maternity staff at St Mary’s Hospital welcomed one of the Isle of Wight's newest residents, baby Solomon, on Christmas Day 2023.
Solomon was born at 12.30am, a son of mum Tyne Samuel and dad Mcharo Mgonja of Shanklin, who weighed 7lb 8oz.
Tyne told the County Press the arrival of Solomon on Christmas Day came as a bit of a surprise, with his due date being today (Thursday, December 28).
Everyone will be glad to hear that baby Solomon has been settling in nicely to life in Shanklin.
Tyne said: “This is my first child, so it is bound to come with its ups and downs, but I think he’s been settling in well.”
Baby Solomon was born just half an hour into Christmas Day, and the family were thankfully able to return home and make the most of the festivities.
“We did actually get back from the hospital on Christmas Day, so we managed to have Christmas dinner,” Tyne explained.
The Team at St Mary’s Hospital said it is proud to have supported welcoming Solomon into the world and wishes him and Solomon’s parents all the very best for the future.
