ISLE of Wight-born cricket star Adam Hose made the Adelaide home crowd go wild with his blistering batting performance in the Big Bash T20 series.

Playing for the Adelaide Strikers, the 31-year-old Worcestershire player, saw his side over the winning line in their run chase against Sydney Thunder on Tuesday.

Sydney Thunder had set 200-7, but after a superb early reply from Adelaide, the run rate was subdued by Sydney's tight bowling.

With the asking rate escalating to 35 required from the last three overs, up stepped Adam, who kept his cool to smash 28 not out off just nine deliveries.

The right-handed Islander struck three boundaries off Nathan McAndrew in the penultimate over, before hitting 12 off Fakhar Zaman in the 20th.

Adam raised Adelaide's thrilling victory, by six wickets, with two deliveries remaining, with a towering six, to the delight of the big Oval crowd.

Adelaide's next fixture in the Big Bash League is against the Sydney Sixers at one of the world's most famous stadiums, the SCG, tomorrow (Friday).
