An Isle of Wight man caught with indecent photographs of children has been spared an immediate jail term.

The case of Reece Anderson, of Vectis Road, East Cowes, was heard at Southampton Crown Court on December 1.

The 23-year-old was charged with three counts of possession of an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.

At a previous hearing in November, at West Hampshire Magistrates' Court, the bench was told, on October 7, 2021, at Southampton, Anderson had in his possession 38 Category A indecent images of children - the worst kind.

The court heard 25 were still images and 13 moving.

He also had 16 Category C images and 117 Category B images in his possession.

Appearing for sentencing this month, Anderson was handed a six-month prison term, suspended for 18 months, to include 25 rehabilitation days and a 23-day horizon programme requirement.

He was made subject of a sexual harm prevention order for seven years and a seven-year police notification requirement.
