Around 20 properties have been evacuated, 'several' gardens have collapsed, and a tearoom is 'hanging on' following a large landslip in Bonchurch near Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.
Part of the main road between Shanklin and Ventnor remains closed, meaning a lengthy diversion is in place.
Emergency services have remained on scene overnight and are still in attendance in the Leeson Road area this morning (Monday).
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary was called to reports of a landslide, near the Smugglers Haven and Devil's Chimney beauty spots, at around 9.21pm yesterday (Sunday).

Police said several gardens have fallen and residents have been evacuated as houses 'are at risk'.
The Smugglers Haven Tea Gardens is 'hanging on', officers have said, with a large void appearing next to the cafe.
The Isle of Wight Council has confirmed around 20 properties have been evacuated.
A spokesperson said: "The majority of households chose to stay with friends and family, and for those unable to do so, temporary accommodation has been provided."
The County Press has also been told told the toilets in the car park at Smugglers Haven have collapsed.
The NPAS police helicopter, from Bournemouth, came over to assess the area last night.
Police are working with Island Roads and the council to 'safeguard the public.'
Leeson Road is closed between Bonchurch Shute and Shanklin.
A spokesperson for the council added: “With daylight the full extent of the landslip and the impact can be fully assessed.”
