A new event aims to spread some festive cheer in one of the Isle of Wight's main shopping destinations in the run up to Christmas.
The aptly named Festive Cheer in Newport, has been set up by Newport Business Association and Newport Minster.
On Saturday, December 16, the town squares (St Thomas' and St James') will have music and fun, organisers say.
There will also be face painting and entertainment from Wight Strollers, Theatretrain and Wight Diamonds, among others.
The finale will see carols around the tree in St Thomas' Square at 4.30pm.
