The pedestrian walkway on the Isle of Wight's Ryde Pier is to remain closed for two weeks.
Ferry firm Wightlink has said it is undertaking work as part of the new Ryde Interchange.
The walkway was first opened in June, just in time for the arrival of Isle of Wight Festival-goers.
At the time, Wightlink’s Head of Port Operations Dean Murphy said: “Strollers now have their own path, away from cars and bicycles, making Ryde Pier more pleasurable for people who want to walk by the sea or travel on foot to and from Wightlink’s FastCats.

“New shelters and seats will offer everyone a chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful views across the Solent.”
Wightlink has said the walkway will temporarily close until Sunday, December 10.
It is necessary to allow for work to connect it to the new transport hub on the Esplanade, the operator said.
A spokesperson for the firm said: "The FastCat service will not be affected and pedestrians will be asked to use the pathway along the road pier during this time.
"Wightlink apologies for any inconvenience to customers."
The walkway links Ryde Pier Head and Ryde Esplanade and replaces the old tramway.
It has been built on the Victorian cast-iron piles of the old tramway, next to the railway pier.
Staff at Knights Brown removed more than 350 tonnes of old steelwork, replacing them with new steel, and installed almost 3,000 decking boards and 1.5 km of decorative handrails.
