Road closures on main routes through Blackwater and Wroxall are likely to mean delays and diversions for drivers today (Friday).

Blackwater Hollow is shut to allow for Southern Water works.

The utility firm is carrying out repair and maintenance works.

A diversion is in place via Whiteley Bank.

Meanwhile, in Wroxall, an emergency road closure is in place.

Clarence Road, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Mountfield Road, is shut for emergency Southern Gas Network repairs.

Again, a diversion is in effect for drivers.

Southern Vectis has said its route 73 will divert from Newport Bus Station via Asda, Shide, Merstone, Newport Rd, Whitwell Road and Pine Point to reach the Island Free School.

Any customers in Godshill should board the bus at Yarborough Close, the firm said.
