THREE fire crews were called to a property in an Isle of Wight village following a report a woman had fallen while she was cooking.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service sent appliances from Newport, Shanklin and Ventnor to a house in Strathwell Crescent in Whitwell, at 4.40pm today (Monday).
On their arrival, there was no fire and was considered a false alarm, but a woman had fallen in her home, her oven was turned off by firefighters and she was assisted from the property to wait for an ambulance, which was on route to Whitwell.
Police also attended. The woman appears to have suffered minor injuries.
More to follow.
