POLICE on the Isle of Wight have arrested two men on suspicion of shoplifting.
A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of three thefts — of meat and alcohol — at Sainsbury’s in School Green Road, Freshwater, on October 21, 24 and on Saturday.
The second suspect, aged 34, was arrested on suspicion of the theft of alcohol from the same store on October 24, and on suspicion of the theft of a bank card in Freshwater, which was reported to the police on August 10.
"Businesses need our support. We are targeting shoplifting offences across the Island, and continue to ask our business community to keep reporting issues to us," a police spokesperson posted on the Island police's Facebook page.
