A MET Office amber weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for parts of the Isle of Wight this evening (Saturday).
The forecaster is expecting further heavy rain, and thunderstorms, likely to cause flooding and disruption.
The warning covers the east of the Isle of Wight – namely Sandown, Brading and Bembridge.
Local forecaster, Jamie Russell of the IW Met Service, says up to 60mm of rain could fall.

The warning is active now, and runs until 1am.
What to expect:
- Spray and flooding probably leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
- Delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely.
- Homes and businesses are likely to be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
- Fast-flowing or deep floodwater is possible.
