Only 18 per cent of chartered surveyors are female, so two local women are bucking the trend by celebrating five years as partners in business.

Portsmouth and Isle of Wight based Wheeler and Lai Chartered Surveyors recently celebrated their milestone, and said in a male-dominated surveying industry, they are proud of their achievement. 

Through dedication to clients and pursuit of customer service excellence, the business partners have exceeded their initial expectations.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) states that only 18 per cent of chartered surveyors are female. 

Rebecca Wheeler, co-founder of Wheeler and Lai, said: “We are in an incredibly male-dominated industry, so to have two women own a commercial surveying company is extremely rare. We are so proud of how far we’ve come and what we still have yet to accomplish.”
