A SERVING prisoner will go before a judge later this year, accused of attempting to murder a paedophile inmate while in jail on the Isle of Wight.
Jack McRae, now of HMP Long Lartin, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates via video link today (Tuesday, October 24).
The 31-year-old is accused of attempting to murder Alex Prosser, at HMP Isle of Wight, on October 14 of last year.
Mr McRae did not enter a plea, and saw his case adjourned for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on December 4.
He was further remanded in custody, and Oscar Vincent, defending, said a psychiatric report is being sought.
