AN ISLE of Wight man will stand trial next year, accused of assaulting his former partner.
Joseph Gulliver, of Harding Road, Ryde, appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday, October 16.
The 40-year-old is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, in Ryde, between February 28 and April 1 of last year.
He is accused of putting his knees and hands on his ex-partner’s chest, restricting her ability to breathe.
Mr Gulliver saw his case adjourned to the week commencing March 18 for a trial at the same venue.
He was granted conditional bail until that date.
