FIREFIGHTERS had to use cutting gear to free a woman trapped in her Citroen car following a crash on the Isle of Wight.
Emergency services were called at 11.56am to a single vehicle accident on Long Lane, on the outskirts of Newport today (Sunday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service sent out two crews from Newport.
At the scene, they found the white car had flipped onto its side in a hedge and that the driver, a female, was trapped inside.
Cutting gear was used to extract her from the vehicle, before she was passed to the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, but police say she was uninjured.
No other vehicles were reportedly involved.
The road was closed for a short time. Fire crews made the scene safe before the operation was stood down at 12.30pm.
