AN ITALIAN pianist is heading to the Isle of Wight next weekend – for a special concert in Ventnor.

The talented Ida Pelliccioli is set to perform at St Catherine’s Church on Sunday, October 22.

“Listening to classical music is often something very urban,” said organiser Allan Skirrow of Green Notes Music.

“A thing you have to go to town to experience.

“But there is a place for classical music in rural and country areas; places where it is green, and that is what Green Notes Music is about.

“We are lucky to have secured Ida to play for us.  Please come and show your support.”

Ida Pelliccioli will play a programme of classical piano music called Introspections from 3pm, as well a piece from Ventnor-born composer Edwin H Lemare.

Green Notes Music is the brainchild of Allan Skirrow, a jazz pianist and accompanist.

Allan hopes to invite further musicians from both the classical and jazz spheres to visit the Island to complement the music played by local musicians.
