Isle of Wight artists, Jane Cox and Sue Lowday, whose work features in national museum collections, will be exhibiting at Ventnor Botanic Garden this month.
The exhibition, running from Friday, October 13, to Sunday, October 15, is an opportunity to admire the work, buy unique handmade gifts, and meet the artists.
Jane Cox’s signature ceramics combine elegant shapes with wild emerald blues, turquoises and speckle glazes inspired by the Island’s shoreline.
This event will include items from her latest jade green range and black and white monochrome designs commissioned by The British Library
Sue Lowday’s practice explores the unique properties of moulding and shaping leather.
She will be showing eco vegetable-tanned leather items such as colourful unisex belts, bags, key-rings, wallets and purses, alongside a range of sculptural bags.
Her ethereal metal sculptures inspired by rock formations will also be available.
Sue’s recent commissions include a bespoke embossed leather case for the Bishop of Stepney and her work is featured in the Sheffield Museums, among other collections.
The event will run from 10am to 4pm each day. Entry and parking is free if you register your car number plate registration at the cafe first.
