A new bridal shop has launched on the Isle of Wight, promising modern bridalwear with an inclusive luxury experience for all its customers.
Named after the year Queen Victoria married Prince Albert, 1840 by Wed & Prosper is aptly located within the grounds of the old Osborne Stables, a Grade II listed building in East Cowes.
The boutique - run by Islanders Carrie Almond and Tash Elliott - brings collections to the Island from six carefully selected British and Australian wedding dress designers.
The pair's vision is to create a space which is comfortable and welcoming for everyone, no matter your shape, size or budget.
Carrie said: "I've worked closely with hundreds of brides for six years now, and the feedback I get is that they are having to go off-Island to find the designers they like and have the experience they want.
"My dream was to open a wedding dress shop one day, and I'm so excited to see this come to life!
"I hope we can deliver what a lot of brides are searching for right here on our doorstep."
The owners feel passionate about using Island suppliers wherever possible, particularly since winning an IW Lottery Loan, which secured them the funding required to set up the business.
Customers will have the option to enjoy cocktails from the IW Cocktail Co. during their appointment or soft drinks supplied by Wight Crystal.
The boutique will also be the exclusive supplier of Island Bride sweatshirts in unique colours supplied by local business Mint & Wight.
