An arson investigation is underway following a fire at a block of flats in Newport this morning (Friday).
As the County Press previously reported, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was called to Hookes Way just after 4am.
A fire broke out in a stairwell, the fire service said.
Four fire engines attended — three from Newport Fire Station and one from Cowes.

A cordon has been erected around the flats this morning.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed it is treating the fire as suspicious.
Police remain in attendance this morning.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called just after 4am today, 6 October, to reports of a fire in a block of flats on Hookes Way, Newport.
"The cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious, and enquiries are ongoing."
