Day two of the Isle of Wight Literary Festival continues today (Friday) with a wide range of authors to go and see.
Here's five top picks from the programme.
1. Martin Brunt, Sky News’s chief crime correspondent, draws on 30 years of tales from the frontline in his book No One Got Cracked over the Head for No Reason, in a session hosted by Isle of Wight journalist Harriet Hadfield.
2. Recipes to seduce, comfort and everything between are the subject of Skye McAlpine’s latest volume, A Table Full of Love, part of the Lit Feast thread at this year’s event.
3. The Gift of a Radio: My Life and Other Train Wrecks is Radio 4 presenter Justin Webb’s memoir about his dysfunctional childhood in the 1970s.
4. An Islander for many years now, Prof Anthony Roberts is an expert in plastic surgery after traumatic injury, often in warzones. He talks about his book Plastic Surgery in Wars, Disasters and Civilian Life.
5. The world of audio books and how to present them is the subject of a fascinating session by top actors Lydia Leonard and Malcolm Sinclair, brought to you by Spiracle Audiobooks. Hear how they go about bringing great books to life in Reading, Not Reading.
The festival continues until Sunday, primarily at Northwood House in Cowes.
There's a chance to meet the authors and have books signed.
You'll also find a book store and cafe for refreshments.
