Across three course distances — five miles, 5km and a children’s 600m race — the event raised more than £1,000 for the Friends of Nettlestone School group, run by parents of pupils at the school.
Both groups competing in the five-mile and 5km races started together, after a quick warm-up routine by fitness instructor, Phil Bell.
The Island’s High Sheriff, Dawn Haig-Thomas, competed in the 5km course, with her three children, to raise awareness of her literacy programme for Island primary schools.
Mrs Haig-Thomas said: “The Nettlestone Primary community is really special. It’s so important children get into the habit of exercise and have confidence to run.”
Winner of the five-miler, Louis Forster, 17, said: “It was a good, enjoyable course. The views definitely help to motivate you."
Race organiser Sarah Peake said it had been a great event, that brought the community together.
"So many families ran the longer courses with primary-aged children — crossing the finish line with a smile," she said.
Year 5 Nettlestone student Alex Reese, who took on the 5-mile race, "ran it in an incredible time,” Sarah added.
The children’s 600m race was won by Harry Pragnell, while the 5km race was won by former Nettlestone pupil, Freya Taylor, who recently competed in the Island Games.
