Isle of Wight business Steve Porter Transport has entered administration following the collapse of its parent company, KNP Logistics Group.

FRP Advisory Trading Limited has been appointed administrator of the haulage and distribution firm, as of today (September 25).

A statement issued on behalf of the KNP Group states 'some employees of Steve Porter have been temporarily retained to assist with the administration process'.

Customers are being contacted as soon as possible, the statement said.

It reads: "The administrators will be writing to all known creditors of Steve Porter in due course.

"Please await contact prior to making any arrangements regarding the collection of goods at Steve Porter sites.

"Enquiries in respect of any other matters relating to Steve Porter should be directed to the administrators at the following email address: steveporter@frpadvisory.com."

On Friday (September 22), the County Press revealed Isle of Wight businesses had been told they could no longer use Steve Porter Transport to supply their goods.

Cowes-based Steve Porter Transport Group merged with Knights of Old Group, now KNP Logistics, in September 2019.

At the time, the company, employed around 45 people and said it would continue to be based in Cowes, in addition to secondary sites in Portsmouth and Southampton.

It was founded on the Island in 1981 and has been a major player in distribution and transport on the Isle of Wight.
