An independent pharmacy chain is to close one of its Isle of Wight branches, the County Press can reveal.
Just five months after opening, it has been confirmed that Day Lewis is shutting its pharmacy on Pyle Street, Newport.
The business only took over the building in April, following the closure of LloydsPharmacy.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Intergrated Care Board (ICB) has told the County Press, Day Lewis will continue to provide services to patients from its nearby pharmacy, on Newport High Street.

A spokesperson for the ICB said: “Local pharmacy teams can provide expert advice about over-the-counter medicines to treat many common health conditions, such as colds, aches and pains and tummy troubles, and give advice on medication and services such as healthy living support.
“Pharmacists are also trained to advise whether you need to see a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional if it is something more serious to ensure you get the help you need, and can also provide health and wellbeing advice.
"Details on where to find your local pharmacist can be found on the ICB website.”
Day Lewis Pharmacy also has a branch in Carisbrooke, Cowes, Lake, Shanklin, Niton and Wootton.
LloydsPharmacy also closed its Newport's Sainsbury's branch earlier this year.
It still has pharmacies in Ryde and East Cowes, at present.
