A man was taken to hospital after a reported 'fork attack' prompted an Isle of Wight emergency response yesterday evening (Thursday, September 21).
Police were called at 7.55pm with reports of an assault at an address on West Street in Newport.
A man in his 40s suffered an injury to his jaw and neck area and he was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.
A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said police initially received reports that a fork may have been used in the assault.
Police enquiries into the wider circumstances remain ongoing.
