ISLE of Wight photographer, Pamela Parker, went on something of an adventure earlier this month – exploring some of the caves in Freshwater.
On the right day, when the tides are extremely low, a series of caves become exposed at Freshwater and Watcombe Bay.
Steeped in history, smugglers once used the caves around the bottom of the chalk cliffs on the picturesque beach.
But it is important to note that anyone wishing to explore them must first avail themselves of the area, weather, and tide.
On the wrong day, a cave is a very dangerous place, and it is best to find a local guide, as you can become cut off by the tide.
