AN ISLE of Wight man and woman will stand trial later this year, accused of offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
Todd Creighton of Furrlongs, Newport, and Aimee Light of Newport Road, Northwood, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday (September 12).
Mr Creighton, 40, denied breaching a court order, barring him from owning or keeping animals, on June 7, 2023.
Ms Light, 28, denied failing to ensure the welfare of two animals she was responsible for, on the same date.
Prosecutor, Ann Smout, told court it is alleged the condition of the flat in which two dogs resided was squalid, littered with unwrapped needles and rotting food, with the only water readily available being putrid.
The pair saw their case adjourned to December 14, and they were granted unconditional bail until that date.
