COULD a Thai restaurant be on its way to Godshill?
A licencing application posted in the window at Essex Cottage, in the heart of the village, suggests so.
The Grade 2 listed building, on High Street, has been empty since Woods Kitchen closed in May, last year.
An application for a premises licence has been submitted by Thai Journey Restaurant, and includes the sale of alcohol, both on and off premises, seven days a week, between 10am and 11pm.
Public comments on the licencing application have now closed.
Woods Kitchen first opened back in August, 2018, taking over from what was The Essex Cottage Restaurant.
Its owner, Teri Woods, moved onto pastures new, and now runs Loveland Hall, on Melville Street, Sandown, which opened in September.
There is no news on when the Thai restaurant will be opening.
