The bridge between the Isle of Wight towns of Yarmouth and Freshwater will be closed across two days next week, it has been confirmed.
Yar Bridge (swing bridge on A3054, Bridge Road) will be closed from 9.30am on Tuesday, September 12, to 3.30pm on Wednesday, September 13.
The bridge is a crucial link for Islanders and visitors travelling to and from West Wight.
The closure is necessary to allow for vital maintenance repairs to the deck and surfacing panels.
Motorists will be diverted via Middle Road during the closure.
The Isle of Wight Council owns and maintains Yar Bridge, with the Yarmouth Harbour Commission operating the swing on behalf of Island Roads.
