An Isle of Wight man has been arrested in connection with a series of arson attacks which resulted in hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage in East Cowes.
The total estimated damage for all of the incidents combined is around £350,000 to 400,000, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said.
The incidents occurred between July 14, 2022 and June 16 this year, with almost a dozen vehicles suspected of being deliberately set alight in the York Avenue, Mayfield Road, Victoria Grove and Kent Avenue areas, police said.
In the most recent incident, a fire occurred at a house in Princess Close.

The North East Wight Neighbourhoods Policing Team, with support from CID, have been following up all available lines of enquiry into these incidents.
Today a 56-year-old man from East Cowes was arrested on suspicion of arson.
He remains in custody at this time.
