The magic of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical, Phantom of the Opera, will grace an Isle of Wight stage for the very first time in February.
And if you’d like to get involved, now is your chance!
Ventnor Theatre Group is bringing the much-loved musical to Shanklin Theatre, thanks to the production team behind 2019's Jesus Christ Superstar (click here to read our review).
Jeanie Brown, as director, is supported by Tony Careless and Rosie Hayward in the musical director chairs, with Amy Anderson choreographing.
Auditions are being held on Sunday, September 10, with information available on the Ventnor Theatre Group Facebook page.
VTG chair, Abigail Hennings, said: “We are so excited to have been granted the license for this show.
"There are only a handful of groups in the country with that privilege so we really are incredibly fortunate.
"The production team are already working hard to pull this together and we look forward to seeing lots of familiar and new faces on audition day.”
Having originally premiered in London’s West End in 1986, the award-winning musical went on to become one of the most beloved entertainment spectacles in history.
As the longest-running show on Broadway, and having captivated over 130 million audience members worldwide, the show has finally reached the Isle of Wight.
Prepare for a romantic tragedy that unfolds against the backdrop of one of the West End’s most unforgettable musical scores.
Timeless songs include Music of the Night, All I Ask of You, and, of course, the iconic Phantom of the Opera.
Tickets are already on sale via Shanklin Theatre.
