Isle of Wight Scooter Rally and Ticket to Ryde this weekend

One of the biggest events on the scooter calendar, the rally is held at Sandown Airport across the bank holiday weekend from today (Friday, August 25) to Tuesday (August 29).

Organised by VFM, the event sees thousands of vintage scooters and their owners arrive on the Island for a weekend of music, custom shows and trade stalls.

At Sandown Airport, visitors can expect a licenced bar, food, camping area and glamping, with lots of entertainment across the event - culminating in Sunday's big ride out.

Meanwhile, in Eastern Gardens, Jack Up Events' free-to-attend Ticket to Ryde returns tomorrow (Saturday), providing a rich mix of bank holiday entertainment for both Island residents as well as an attraction for visitors to the Island’s shores.

The event has been running for eight years and it will once again return this upcoming bank holiday weekend.

Visitors can expect feel-good live music provided by Scooted & Booted, The Resisters, Hot Pocket, Charlene Duncan, Queenie the Soul Queen, Now Only, Bethan John, The Pact, Emelia and many more.

Along with entertainment at the airport and Eastern Gardens, Rocket Ronnies on Ryde Esplanade is hosting three nights of live music, with tickets available online through the organiser's Visual Impact and in-store at both sites.

Tonight, MD – managed by former Oasis manager Alan McGee – will be playing some of the biggest tunes from the 90s Brit Pop, while Trojan Beats will be performing their take on Ska’s major hits.

Headlining tomorrow is 12-piece soul band Angela Starr & The Team, alongside With Outa Time, boasting a northern soul and Mod classics set.

The Small Fakers become The Small Faces on Sunday night, praised as one of the UK’s finest tributes with their authentic sound and performance by original members and family members of the late Steve Marriot.
