The three-day event was postponed from July 15 due to poor weather, so a month later than expected, festivities got underway on Friday (August 18).
Isle of Wight Pride champions the importance of equality and diversity by highlighting the advances made for the LGBTQIA+ community in the UK and around the world and raising awareness of the prejudice and danger many still face.
Friday night treated visitors to the Pride Launch Party, featuring Cherry Liquor and Dawn the Drag Queen, plus DJ host Boom Party Life.
Yesterday, the Pride Parade started at noon from Ryde School, travelling through the town onto the Esplanade and Pride Community Village at Eastern Gardens.
Onlookers and participants enjoyed main stage entertainment, featuring Utmost John, MDNA – Madonna Tribute, Quivers, the Diva-Licious 90s show, plus much more.
Today, the party continued in Eastern Gardens for IW Pride Plus until 7pm, with plenty of stalls, food, drink, unicorns, tributes, dancers, singers, burlesque, cocktails, drag and a ‘Promise to Love Ceremony’.
