An Isle of Wight care home hosted a heart-warming celebration in honour of National Alzheimer's Cupcake Day last week.
Orchard House Care Centre in Newport held the event on Wednesday (August 16), bringing together residents and staff for a day of joy and connection.
For many, the highlight of the day was a lively cupcake quiz that engaged participants and brought smiles all around, with residents showcasing their knowledge and enjoying friendly competition.
Attendees relished the sweet treats while sipping freshly brewed coffee and tea.
Adding to the event’s charm, Orchard House also hosted Auntie G Story Time in their library.
Residents and visitors gathered to enjoy stories that ignited their imaginations and provided a moment of shared nostalgia.
Katie Schlepp, head of lifestyle at Orchard House, said: “We are thrilled to have celebrated National Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day with our beloved residents.
“The event exemplifies our commitment to creating meaningful experiences that bring joy and a sense of belonging to our community.”
